Midland Lee Lady Rebels Varsity Grabs Lead In Seventh Inning For Victory Over Permian
Midland Lee Lady Rebels Varsity took the lead late and defeated Permian 4-2 on Friday. The game was tied at two with Midland Lee Lady Rebels Varsity batting in the top of the seventh when Brooks induced Abby Jordan to ground out, but one run scored.
In the top of the sixth inning, Midland Lee Lady Rebels Varsity tied things up at two. With zero outs in the sixth inning Kirklynd Newsom drove in one run when she homered.
Melanie Marin earned the win for Midland Lee Lady Rebels Varsity. She pitched seven innings, allowing two runs, nine hits, and striking out two. M Martinez took the loss for Permian. She tossed six innings, giving up four runs, nine hits, and striking out six.
Home runs for Midland Lee Lady Rebels Varsity came when Newsom homered in the sixth inning and Sarah Welsh homered in the sixth inning.
Midland Lee Lady Rebels Varsity collected nine hits. Welsh, Lani Marquez, and Abby Jordan each collected multiple hits for Midland Lee Lady Rebels Varsity. Welsh went 3-for-3 at the plate as she led the team with two runs batted in. Midland Lee Lady Rebels Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Marquez had the most chances in the field with five.
Permian had nine hits in the game. Hunter Harkrider and H Banker each collected multiple hits for Permian. Permian was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Harkrider made the most plays with seven.

Game Recap

Both teams were strong on the mound on Friday night, but College Station was just a little bit stronger at the plate, as they edged the Rebels 1-0. One bright offensive spot for Lee was Adam Becker who was 2-for-3 at the plate.

Matthew Clifford earned the win for College Station as he went six innings, surrendering no runs, four hits, striking out five, and walking none. Brayden Payne took the loss for Midland Lee as he tossed six innings, allowing one run, five hits and striking out five. Payne was solid throughout, as the senior shut out the Cougars in 5 out of 6 innings.

Game Recap

Midland Lee watched the game slip away early and could not recover in a 2-1 loss to Round Rock on Friday afternoon. The pitching was strong on both sides as Round Rock pitchers struck out 8 and Lee sat down one.

Round Rock took an early lead in the first inning when Jordan Williams singled home a run.

Luke Malone earned the win for Round Rock, as he tossed four and a third innings, giving up one run, two hits, and striking our five. J.J. Melendez took the loss for the Rebels as he went six innings, allowing two runs, five hits, and one strike out. The young sophomore was solid all day, as he held Round Rock scoreless for 5 of the 6 frames.

Game Recap

Thursday proved to be a long day for the Midland Lee Rebels, as they lost the second game of their tournament opening doubleheader to Westmoore (Okl.) 6-1. After a rain delay, Westmoore took the lead for good with three runs in the 4th inning. They followed that up with three more in the 5th to put the game away.

Gunnar Blevins took the loss for the Rebels as he pitched five innings, surrendering six runs, seven hits, and striking out four.

Lee will continue tournament play tomorrow by taking on Round Rock at noon and College Station at 5pm. The Rebs are now 4-8 on the season, as they have faced some very stiff competition.

Game Recap

Even though the Midland Lee Rebels and Cinco Ranch both had their opportunities, it was Cinco Ranch that eventually prevailed 6-3 on Thursday afternoon. The game was tied at three with Cinco Ranch batting in the top of the sixth when Joe Kibble homered off of Payton Tranum, driving in three runs.

Lee tood an early lead in the first inning off of Colby Standard’s double. Payton Tranum took the loss for the Rebels as he tossed three innings, giving up two runs and five hits. Wyatt Hernandez started the game for Lee, as he went three innings, giving up two runs and five hits.

Standard and John Wuthrich each drove in one run to lead the Rebels.

Midland Lee Lady Rebels JV Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Lubbock Coronado

Midland Lee Lady Rebels JV took the lead late and defeated Lubbock Coronado 8-6 on Tuesday. The game was tied at six with Midland Lee Lady Rebels JV batting in the bottom of the fifth when Gisselle Dominguez homered off of V Gutierrez, driving in two runs.

Claudia Carrillo led Midland Lee Lady Rebels JV to victory by driving in five runs. She went 2-for-3 at the plate. Carrillo drove in runs on a home run in the third and a home run in the fifth.
After Lubbock Coronado scored one run in the top of the fourth, Midland Lee Lady Rebels JV answered with one of their own. Lubbock Coronado scored when a runner stole home. Midland Lee Lady Rebels JV then answered when Jaleen Marquez doubled off of V Gutierrez, driving in one run.
Home runs for Midland Lee Lady Rebels JV came when Gisselle Dominguez homered in the fifth inning and Carrillo homered in the third and fifth innings.
Midland Lee Lady Rebels JV had 13 hits in the game. Litzy Gutierrez, Nayeli Laredo, Marquez, Klarissa Rodriguez, Carrillo, and Dominguez each collected multiple hits for Midland Lee Lady Rebels JV. Dominguez, Carrillo, Rodriguez, Marquez, Laredo, and Gutierrez all had two hits to lead Midland Lee Lady Rebels JV. Midland Lee Lady Rebels
. Carrillo made the most plays with six.

Lubbock Coronado collected 11 hits. C Lansdell, A Rivera, and A Damron each collected multiple hits for Lubbock Coronado. Lubbock Coronado was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Lansdell had the most chances in the field with five.
