Midland Lee hosted the Odessa Bronchos in the District 2-6A opener at Chap Center Friday night. The game was knotted at 39 after two quarters of play, and Lee held a 58-48 lead in the 4th. OHS heated up and outscored the Runnin’ Rebels in the final frame, leading to a 77-74 Broncho victory.
In Lee’s final non-district contest, easy baskets were difficult to come by. The Rebels twice battled back from 13 and 8 point deficits to tie the game. The Rebels were down two with 11 seconds left and the Chiefs had one more defensive stop left in them, as the Lake View defender stole the ball
Down 7 entering the 4th quarter, the Runnin’ Rebs used a 20-9 run to end the game 63-58. This is Lee’s third straight win an 5th in last 7th game. Next games will be at Byron Johnston Tournament Dec 28-30.
After defeating Lubbock High Saturday morning, the Runnin’ Rebels took the afternoon contest as well, 54-37 over the Monahans Loboes. Lee travels to Lamesa Monday evening to play the Golden Tors at 7:30pm
Lee 55- Lubbock 33. Lee will face Monahans at 4:30pm at Kimbrell Arena on the McMurry University campus in the final contest of the CatClaw Classic.
The Abilene Eagles used an 18 point fourth quarter flurry to hold off the Runnin’ Rebels, 59-52. Lee will face Lubbock High at 9:00am Saturday morning at Wylie High School (gym 2).
